UTZ CERTIFIED is seeking a Standards & Certification Manager to identify trends and needs with major stakeholders and translate them into the UTZ CERTIFIED programs and lead a team of six professionals who manage the diverse commodity and content areas.

The UTZ Standards & Certification Department is responsible for developing and continuously improving the sustainability criteria for coffee, tea and cocoa UTZ CERTIFIED stands for as well as development and revision of Chain of Custody requirements. The department manages the UTZ CERTIFIED certification programs for coffee, tea and cocoa (and new products) and participates in UTZ’s monitoring and evaluation / impact assessment activities. UTZ voluntary standards are developed in a transparent, credible and balanced multi-stakeholder approach, and they are regularly being revised. Both auditing and certification is done by accredited external bodies.
You have an excellent overview over production realities and issues and of sustainability certification in coffee, cocoa and tea. You identify trends and needs with major stakeholders and translate them into the UTZ CERTIFIED programs. You lead a team of six professionals who manage the diverse commodity and content areas, ensuring consistent and top quality output, optimal workflow, adequate capacity and personal development. You support the Standards Director with defining the standards strategy and with external representation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Standards and Certification Manager reports to the Standards Director.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Employment is based upon minimum 32 hours/week (UTZ prefers full time = 40 hours/week). The position is based in Amsterdam and implies incidental to regular travel abroad. UTZ can only consider candidates who have a work & residency permit for the Netherlands/EU.
